Corsica Linea
Corsica Linea
Corsica Linea: French ferry operator in the western Mediterranean
Corsica Linea (Corsica Linea SAS) is a French ferry company founded on 5 January 2016, headquartered in Ajaccio, the capital of Corsica. It emerged as the successor to Maritime Corse Méditerranée (MCM), itself the legal heir to the historic SNCM, and from its very first day established itself as the leading operator on routes from Marseille to Corsica, while also becoming a prominent player towards Algeria and Tunisia. Its vessels are instantly recognisable by their distinctive red livery, the company's hallmark since 2016. The offer ranges from overnight crossings to Corsica — with the Marseille–Bastia route as the backbone of the service — to long overnight voyages to North Africa, such as the Marseille–Algiers ferry or the Marseille–Tunis crossing.

Corsica Linea routes and timetables
Corsica Linea operates exclusively from the Port of Marseille (and seasonally from Sète since 2023) to four destinations: Corsica, Algeria, Tunisia and Sardinia. The frequencies and durations below correspond to the 2024–2025 seasons; definitive timetables are updated each year on the company's official website.
Note: Frequencies are indicative and vary by season. Algeria and Tunisia routes operate on specific high-season (July–August) and low-season schedules. Always check the up-to-date calendar on corsicalinea.com or the iloveferry.com search engine to confirm dates and availability.
Corsica Linea top routes
Four routes stand out from Corsica Linea's network for their demand, frequency or strategic importance. The overnight connection to Bastia is the most frequently operated, while the North Africa routes form the company's longest Mediterranean axis — crossings that combine cruise-level comfort with freight transport.
Port of Bastia, Corsica — Corsica Linea's main destination from Marseille, with daily sailings throughout the year.
Corsica Linea's flagship route: an overnight crossing of around 10 hours, departing from the port of Marseille and arriving in the heart of Corsica at dawn. Operated year-round by the fleet's mixed-cargo vessels.
Duration: ~10 h · Ideal for: travellers with a car or motorbike looking to cross to Corsica efficiently and economically
An overnight crossing of around 12 hours to the Corsican capital. Generally departs Marseille at night, arriving the following morning. Available year-round with daily frequency, boosted in high season by the Danielle Casanova.

Corsica Linea's main connection to North Africa: approximately 22 hours between Marseille and Algiers, the Algerian capital. Operated year-round with 1–2 weekly departures, primarily by the Méditerranée. Broad on-board offer with cabins and catering.
Duration: ~22 h · Ideal for: travellers with a car or freight connecting France and Algeria directly
A crossing of around 21 hours 30 minutes to Tunis, with two weekly sailings year-round. The Danielle Casanova, with its capacity for 2,200 passengers and 700 vehicles, is the most common vessel on this route, offering a level of comfort comparable to a cruise ship.
Duration: ~21 h 30 min · Ideal for: tourists, emigrants and hauliers between southern France and northern Tunisia
Fleet and on-board services
Corsica Linea operates nine vessels (as of January 2026), most inherited from SNCM and progressively modernised with the corporate red livery. The fleet combines ro-pax mixed-cargo ferries — such as the Pascal Paoli, the Jean Nicoli (refurbished in 2023) or the Paglia Orba (542 passengers, 2,330 linear metres of ramp) — with the cruise-ferry Danielle Casanova (2,200 passengers, 700 vehicles), the company's highest-capacity passenger vessel. The most recent addition is the A Galeotta (2023), the first LNG-powered ferry purpose-built for the Marseille–Corsica route. The forthcoming Capu Rossu, E-Flexer class and also LNG, is due to enter service in March 2026.
A Galeotta (2023), Corsica Linea's first newly built vessel, powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), for the Marseille–Corsica route.

Corsica Linea featured ships
The Corsica Linea fleet brings together nine vessels with very varied profiles: from high-capacity ro-pax mixed-cargo ferries to the cruise-ferry Danielle Casanova and the modern A Galeotta, the company's first purpose-built vessel. All sport the distinctive red livery and the Corsican Moor's Head symbol.
A Galeotta
Corsica Linea's first purpose-built vessel (Visentini shipyard, Italy, 2023). Powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas), a pioneer on the Marseille–Corsica route in terms of environmental sustainability. Ro-pax with high freight capacity and optimised passenger comfort.
Danielle Casanova
The fleet's highest-capacity cruise-ferry: up to 2,200 passengers and 700 vehicles. A regular on the Marseille–Tunis and Marseille–Algiers routes, and on high-season reinforcements to Corsica. Features cabins, Video on Demand, a restaurant and spacious cruise-style lounges.
Pascal Paoli
A ro-pax mixed-cargo ferry inherited from SNCM and one of the mainstays of the year-round Marseille–Bastia routes. Fitted with scrubbers (2019) and adapted for shore power connection in Marseille. Cabins with TV, restaurant, cafeteria and children's area.
Jean Nicoli
A ro-pax mixed-cargo ferry that underwent an extensive refit at the Bizerta (Tunisia) shipyard in 2023: new silicone paint to reduce fuel consumption by 3–5%, redesigned public areas, and a fully refurbished reception and bar. A regular on summer Algeria routes.
Note: Vessel assignment by route and date may vary depending on maintenance schedules, seasonal demand and the company's operational requirements. Check the assigned vessel when making your booking.
Corsica Linea's main harbours
The entire Corsica Linea network departs from the French ports of Marseille and Sète (seasonally since 2023) towards four geographic areas: the interior of Corsica, the Algerian coast of North Africa, Tunisia and, seasonally, Sardinia. Corsican ports fall within the framework of France's Public Service Delegation (DSP).
Since the vast majority of Corsica Linea crossings are overnight or long-duration — ranging from 10 hours (Marseille–Bastia) to over 22 hours (North Africa routes) — the company offers different accommodation options from a standard seat to comfortable cabins, depending on the vessel assigned to each route. Booking a cabin in advance is strongly recommended, especially in July, August and during school holidays.
Standard seat: numbered place in a lounge, available on all vessels. The most economical option for short crossings or for passengers who prefer not to book a cabin.
Inside cabin (2–4 berths): no exterior window, with bunk beds, washbasin and, on mixed-cargo ships, a television; shared or private bathroom depending on the vessel.
Outside cabin (2–4 berths): with window or porthole, bunk beds, washbasin, TV with remote control and access to Freeview channels. Available on Pascal Paoli, Jean Nicoli, Paglia Orba and outside cabins of Monte d'Oro, Vizzavona, Danielle Casanova and Méditerranée.
Cabin with en-suite bathroom: on vessels that offer it, equipped cabins include a shower, shower gel, shampoo and bath towels. Cabins with a washbasin include soap and hand towels.
Fare with vehicle: compulsory when boarding with a car, motorbike, van, motorhome or trailer. The price varies according to the vehicle length declared at booking.
Deck passage (foot passenger, no cabin): the most economical option; the passenger finds a space in the lounges and communal areas of the vessel.
Small complimentary water bottle: included for all cabin passengers, placed beside the bunks.
The final price varies according to season, how far in advance you book and the occupancy level of the vessel. The most competitive fares are obtained by booking several weeks ahead and choosing mid-week or overnight departures.
Luggage, vehicles and pets
Luggage
Corsica Linea does not set weight or quantity limits on passenger luggage. Each traveller is responsible for carrying their luggage from the embarkation point to the communal spaces or cabin. The vessels have toilets with communal showers accessible at any point during the crossing; it is advisable to bring your own toiletries if you plan to use the communal showers, as only equipped cabins provide gel and towels.
Vehicles
Cars, motorcycles, vans, motorhomes, trailers and oversized vehicles are accepted. It is essential to declare the exact length and height of the vehicle at the time of booking in order to be assigned the appropriate garage space. Passengers must arrive at the port with the notice indicated on the ticket. Once on board, access to the vehicle garage is prohibited throughout the crossing for safety reasons; it is recommended that all necessary personal items be removed from the vehicle before departure.
Pets
Corsica Linea accepts dogs and cats on all its vessels. Pets must travel in the on-board kennel (chenil): cats and small animals must be in a carrier and placed in the corresponding kennel box. Leaving pets in the vehicle during the crossing is not permitted for safety reasons. Pets are not allowed in indoor communal areas or catering spaces. Compulsory documentation includes the European pet passport, microchip, valid rabies vaccination and an up-to-date vaccination record.
Note for international travellers: Specific customs and health requirements apply to passengers, vehicles and pets on routes to Algeria and Tunisia. Check current entry requirements for each destination before boarding. For travel to Algeria or Tunisia with a pet, verify that the documentation is valid in the destination country, as regulations differ from those of the European Union. In high season (July–August), book a kennel space in advance to guarantee a place for your pet.
