Marseille is home to one of Europe's largest Algerian communities, and this route is historically the busiest maritime link between France and Algeria. The overnight crossing lets you board in the evening and arrive in Algiers early in the morning. Passengers with a vehicle must use Porte 3B Beauséjour; foot passengers enter via Porte 3C.

The Nouris Elbahr Ferries Mediterranean fleet consists of high-capacity ro-pax ferries. The main vessel on the European routes is the Cracovia, a ro-pax of 180 metres in length with capacity for 658 passengers and 2,200 lane metres of car deck — equivalent to around 140 articulated lorries and 90 cars. The vessel operates the Alicante–Oran–Algiers circuit on a rotating basis, arriving from Algiers on Mondays, departing to Oran the same day and returning from Oran on Wednesdays to head back to Algiers. On-board activity reflects the Mediterranean–Algerian character of the company: a halal menu in the restaurant and cafeteria, prayer rooms and cabins in different categories.

All Nouris Elbahr Ferries routes last at least 14 hours, so the choice of accommodation directly affects your comfort. For overnight crossings of 18 to 24 hours (Alicante–Algiers and routes from Marseille) a cabin is recommended. Bear in mind that cabins do not include any toiletries: you must bring your own towels, soap and toilet paper.

Arriving late for check-in may result in being denied boarding with no right to a refund. At Marseille port it is essential to use the correct entrance depending on whether you are travelling with or without a vehicle.
Foot passengers may board with two items of luggage (suitcases up to 60 × 50 cm) and one backpack. The following are strictly prohibited: motorbikes, bicycles, household appliances and furniture.
When booking, you must state the vehicle's registration number, make and model. Commercial passenger vehicles without fixed seats cannot be booked. The following are prohibited:
Export vehicles: Nouris Elbahr Ferries applies no surcharge for export vehicles. There is no need to inform the company or the booking agent if you are travelling with an export vehicle. At Marseille port, travellers with vehicles carrying goods must declare those goods in accordance with the EU Customs Code.
Pregnant passengers may travel up to seven months of pregnancy, provided they present a medical certificate authorising travel. Approval from the ship's doctor before boarding is compulsory.
Compulsory documentation for entry into Algeria: a biometric passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of travel. A national ID card is not sufficient. Non-Algerian nationals must obtain an entry visa before travelling. When entering Algeria with your own vehicle, you are required to take out third-party liability insurance at the border crossing, as European insurance policies are not valid in Algeria.
