Lanzarote to Santa Cruz de Tenerife Ferry: a Journey in Two Legs
With Balearia
The ferry from Lanzarote to Santa Cruz de Tenerife leaves Arrecife and calls at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Baleària Canarias offers it as a combined booking, but not every day.
If the combined option does not fit your date, you can make the trip in separate legs: Arrecife to Las Palmas and Las Palmas to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Both do sail daily.
There is no ship from Playa Blanca to Tenerife or from Lanzarote to Los Cristianos. For those two departures you have to go via Arrecife or via Santa Cruz.
Lanzarote to Santa Cruz de Tenerife ferry timetable
The timetable above shows the combined departures. As they are not daily, it is worth also checking the separate legs, which are, if your date has no combined option.
With separate legs you can spend a few hours or a night in Las Palmas between one ship and the other, if you want to break the journey.
There are no departures scheduled on this route in the coming days. You can travel on these routes:
Indicative schedules and subject to variation by the ferry company for operational reasons without prior notice.
How long does the ferry from Lanzarote to Santa Cruz de Tenerife take?
A long day if you do it as a combined trip. With separate legs, it depends on how much time you spend in Las Palmas between one and the other. The timetable shows the duration of each leg and the wait.
Which ferry company runs Lanzarote to Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Only Baleària Canarias, on every leg. Its advantage here is combining Arrecife, Las Palmas and Santa Cruz under one booking reference and allowing you to buy the legs separately when that suits you.
Fred Olsen Express has Gran Canaria and Tenerife, but has no route with Lanzarote apart from Playa Blanca to Corralejo. That difference means that in Lanzarote the choice is limited to Baleària.
Lanzarote to Santa Cruz de Tenerife ferry price
The price above is the lowest recent fare for an adult with both legs. Bought separately the amounts change, and each ticket has its own change conditions. Compare the total price of the combined trip with the sum of the two legs for your date.
Resident discount on the Lanzarote to Santa Cruz de Tenerife ferry
Canary Islands residents get 75% off the passenger fare with Baleària. It does not apply to the car, the pet or extras (the 75% applies only to the passenger fare; check in the booking how taxes are treated), so with a car the real saving is smaller.
You can calculate your resident price directly on I Love Ferry, at iloveferry.com/ferris, by switching on "Canary Islands resident?" in the results search; the 75% applies only to the passenger fare.
Residence is verified electronically and, if that fails, with the certificate of residence and the identity document shown on it. More detail in Canary Islands resident discount.
Large family discount from Lanzarote to Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Large family: 20% for the general category and 50% for the special one off the passenger fare, compatible with the resident discount. Bring the valid certificate. Guide: ferry with a large family discount.
Lanzarote to Santa Cruz de Tenerife ferry with a car
With a car, the combined trip is simpler: one booking, one declared vehicle and a guided change. If you buy by legs, declare the car on both tickets with the same measurements and check that it can board on both. There is no access to the car deck during the crossing.
Lanzarote to Santa Cruz de Tenerife ferry with a dog
Baleària allows pets on the booking, with a boarding card and health record, and accommodates them in Pet&You, Pet Friendly seat, calm kennels or a pet-friendly cabin. On a day with two ships, the cabin is the most comfortable for the first leg. If you buy by legs, add the pet on both tickets. More: travelling by ferry with a dog.
On board on the trip from Lanzarote to Santa Cruz de Tenerife
The long leg is Arrecife to Las Palmas, and it is on a ship with seats, cabins and food service. Choose a cabin if you leave in the afternoon and want to sleep; if the trip is short or in the daytime, the superior seat is enough. The second leg, Las Palmas to Santa Cruz, is on a fast ship.
Ports of Lanzarote (Arrecife) and Tenerife (Santa Cruz)
Port of Tenerife
How to get to the port of Arrecife

The ferry docks at Santa Cruz, next to the centre. With the combined trip or with the separate leg, it is the same port. For the south of Tenerife or Los Cristianos, a good hour by road.

I Love Ferry tips for Lanzarote to Santa Cruz de Tenerife
- Compare the combined trip and the legs. The combined trip is more convenient; separate legs are more flexible if there is no departure on your day.
- If you buy by legs, leave a margin in Las Palmas. If the first is delayed, the second sails anyway: the advice is not to cut the change too fine.
- Cabin on the long leg. It is what rests you most on a full-day trip.
- Sea and wind. Baleària may change the timetable or ship; leave a real mobile and email.
- Resident: calculate your price on I Love Ferry (iloveferry.com/ferris) by switching on "Canary Islands resident?", also on each separate leg.
Why book Lanzarote to Santa Cruz de Tenerife with I Love Ferry
- You see the combined trip and the separate legs in the same search.
- Resident and large family discounts, on each booking.
- If something changes on a leg, a person on the team reorganises the rest with you.
