Balearia: routes between mainland and Balearic

Let's talk about the Balearia routes between the mainland and the Balearic Islands in Spain. Balearia operates from the ports of Barcelona, Valencia, and Denia (Alicante).

- - -

Balearia from Barcelona:

The Balearia routes departing from Barcelona port connect with all the Balearic Islands. The most popular ferry routes from Barcelona are to Mallorca and Menorca. From Barcelona, you can also take a direct ferry to Ibiza. To travel by ferry from Barcelona to Formentera, you first need to travel to Ibiza and change ferries and ports to reach La Savina port in Formentera.

These are the Balearia routes from Barcelona:

Barcelona - Mallorca

From Barcelona, you can travel with Balearia to the ports of Alcudia (in the north of Mallorca) and its capital, Palma de Mallorca.

Barcelona - Menorca

Balearia's ships (fast ferry or ferry) departing from Barcelona port to Menorca sail to the town of Ciutadella, on the western side of Menorca island.

Barcelona - Ibiza

From Barcelona, Balearia's ferries travel to the Botafoc port in Ibiza town (or Eivissa).

Barcelona - Formentera

To get from Barcelona to Formentera, you first need to travel from Barcelona to Ibiza. Once at the Botafoc dock, you need to go to the docks in Ibiza town to board the fast ferries or ferries that travel from Ibiza to Formentera.

Balearia from Valencia:

Balearia also connects from the port of Valencia with the islands of Mallorca, Ibiza, and Formentera in the Balearic Islands. The routes to Mallorca and Ibiza are direct and are generally night routes, designed so that you arrive in the islands in the morning. For the route to Formentera, you can purchase a single ticket, but upon arrival in Ibiza, you will need to change ports, from Botafoc to Ibiza town, and board one of the fast ferries that will take you to the port of La Savina. The Balearia routes from Valencia are:

These are the Balearia routes from Valencia:

Valencia - Mallorca

From Valencia, you travel to Palma de Mallorca port if you want to go to Mallorca with Balearia. There is no option to travel to Alcudia port.

Valencia - Ibiza

Balearia departs from the port of Valencia to the town of Eivissa (Ibiza). At present, this is the only route available. No ferry company, including Balearia, travels to the port of San Antonio, in the north of Ibiza island.

Balearia from Denia (Alicante):

Denia, in Alicante, is the town where Balearia has its main headquarters, offices, and a dedicated terminal. From Denia, Balearia's ships depart to Mallorca, Ibiza, and Formentera. Generally, there are direct ferries from Denia to Ibiza and Formentera. In summer, there are also ferries to these islands with stopovers in Ibiza or Formentera due to increased demand. Throughout the year, the ferry from Denia to Mallorca makes a stopover at Ibiza port before heading to Palma de Mallorca port.

These are the Balearia routes from Denia (Alicante):

Denia - Mallorca

From Denia, you first travel to Ibiza, and after a 1-hour stop, during which passengers and vehicles disembark and embark, the Balearia fast ferry heads to Palma.

Denia - Ibiza

The Balearia fast ferries and ferries departing from Denia, Alicante, towards Ibiza island arrive at the Botafoc docks in Ibiza town. At present, no Balearia ships travel to San Antonio, Ibiza.

Denia - Formentera

Throughout the year, Balearia's fast ferries depart from Denia, Alicante, to Formentera. Most of them are direct ferries, but depending on demand, they sometimes make a stopover in Ibiza, either on the way out or on the return, before arriving or after departing from Formentera.

And these are currently all the routes operated by Balearia from the mainland to the Balearic Islands.
