Sète to Nador Ferry: GNV, Car and Documents from France
With Balearia · 1 to 2 weekly departures · 39 hours - 40 hours and 15 minutes
To get from Sète to Nador by ferry, the ferry company is GNV. It leaves from the port of Sète, in the south of France, and arrives at the port of Nador, in northern Morocco, after about two nights at sea.
It is the direct route for anyone who lives in France and travels to the Rif with a car. GNV operates all year round and adds departures from June to September; some departures include a stop in Barcelona.
If you live in France with a Moroccan passport, keep your valid residence permit: you need it to re-enter Schengen. GNV applies the checks of the European EES system on this route.

Children, minors and discounts
Minors have their own fare: enter their age when you search. The Spanish resident and large family discounts do not apply. Children under 14 cannot travel alone; with only one parent, bring written authorisation from the other. From 14 to 18 they can travel alone with written authorisation.

Use your European passport for Schengen. Which document Morocco requires of its nationals does not appear in GNV's sources: ask the Moroccan consulate.
If you are European
A passport is also compulsory for EU citizens on routes to and from Morocco.
I Love Ferry tips for the Sète to Nador ferry
- Start with the EX1. If you are exporting the car, without the declaration they will not load it on board.
- Book months ahead in summer. GNV has more departures from June to September, but the route fills up.
- Always take a cabin. It is two nights and you cannot go down to the car deck.
- Paper proof of residence. Without it they will not let you board for the return and there is no refund.
- Compare with Almería–Nador if you are crossing Spain anyway: it is much shorter.
