The Ciudad de Sóller is a ro-pax ferry operated by Trasmed that sails overnight between the Spanish mainland and Mallorca. Her usual route is Valencia–Palma de Mallorca (around 8 hours) and, depending on the operator's schedule, she can also cover Barcelona–Palma and Barcelona–Alcúdia. At 188 metres long, with room for about 900 passengers and a garage of around 3,300 lane metres (according to the specialist press), she is a large ferry designed for travelling with a car, in a reclining seat or in a cabin.
She joined the Trasmed fleet on 25 March 2024 to replace the Ciudad de Alcúdia. Until then she was called Igoumenitsa and sailed for Grimaldi Lines; in 2022, for example, she served the daily Brindisi–Igoumenitsa line. After a spell at a shipyard in Yalova (Turkey), she made her way to Valencia and then on to Palma. For the first two months she kept her Italian flag and crew; since the end of May 2024 she has sailed under the Spanish flag with a Spanish crew.
Why she is called Ciudad de Sóller
Trasmed chose the name as a tribute to the Mallorcan town of Sóller, which was historically a key maritime link between Mallorca, Valencia, Barcelona and the south of France. Despite the name, the ship does not sail to Port de Sóller: her routes go to Palma and Alcúdia.

If you are travelling with a car, arrive at the port at least 90 minutes before departure; if you are on foot, about 60 minutes. In July and August allow extra time and check the check-in deadline on your ticket. If your destination is Palma, make sure your sailing arrives at the port of Palma and not Alcúdia: they are two different ports.

As a guide, on Valencia–Palma passenger tickets start from around €18 per crossing, and from around €38 with a car. On Barcelona–Palma they start from around €14, and from around €33 with a car. These prices are indicative: they depend on the date, the accommodation and how far ahead you book, and they rise in July and August.
Available discounts:
