Las Palmas to Lanzarote Ferry: Timetables, Cabin and Car
With Balearia · from 6 h
The ferry from Las Palmas to Lanzarote leaves from La Luz port, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and arrives at the port of Arrecife. It is run by Baleària Canarias, with a sailing every day of the year.
The crossing takes several hours and the ship has cabins with a bathroom, so many travellers leave in the afternoon and arrive in Arrecife in the morning. You can also travel in a seat.
It is the same route as Gran Canaria Lanzarote, but written with the name of the departure port. There is no ferry from Las Palmas to Playa Blanca.
Las Palmas Lanzarote ferry timetable
Below you can see the sailings for your date. Baleària Canarias runs the route every day of the year, with a ship with cabins designed for the long crossing.
If you leave in the early afternoon, plan to have dinner on board. With a night departure, the cabin saves you from looking for accommodation in Arrecife on the first night.
Indicative schedules and subject to variation by the ferry company for operational reasons without prior notice.
How long does the Las Palmas Lanzarote ferry take?
Several hours: it is one of the longest crossings between islands. That is why there are cabins and sailings designed for sleeping on board. In the timetable you see the exact duration of each sailing and which ship runs it.
Who runs the Las Palmas Lanzarote ferry
Baleària Canarias runs the ferry between Las Palmas and Arrecife on its own. It is the former Naviera Armas route (now operated by Baleària).
Fred Olsen does not run this route: in Lanzarote it only has Playa Blanca, and from there it only sails to Corralejo (Fuerteventura). So between Gran Canaria and Lanzarote the choice is about date and accommodation, not ferry company.
The difference from the other Canary routes is the duration: it is one of the long crossings in the archipelago, and the ferry company provides cabins with a bathroom. Travel at the pace of a night trip: spend the night on board if you choose a sailing in that time slot.
Las Palmas Lanzarote ferry price
The price above is the lowest recent one for an adult. As it is a long crossing, the type of accommodation matters: standard seat, superior seat or cabin, plus the VIP and Premium extras.
Premium includes a hot meal, priority boarding with a vehicle and a refund on cancellation; VIP includes a separate lounge, a snack, a drink and a change of date or time. Compare what you need.
Resident discount on the Las Palmas Lanzarote ferry
Residents of the Canary Islands get a 75% discount on the fare between islands with Baleària. The discount does not apply to the vehicle, the pet or additional services, so the real saving on a trip with a car is smaller.
You can work out your resident price directly on I Love Ferry, at iloveferry.com/ferris, by turning on the "Resident in the Canary Islands?" switch in the results search; the 75% applies only to the passenger fare.
- Residence is checked through an online system. If it fails, you need a valid residence certificate and the identity document shown on it.
- More information on the Canary Islands resident discount.
Large family discount Las Palmas Lanzarote
If you have a large family certificate, the discount is 20% (general) or 50% (special) on the fare, and it can be combined with the resident discount. Bring the valid certificate. Guide: ferry with a large family discount.
Las Palmas Lanzarote ferry with a car
It takes cars, motorbikes, vans, caravans, motorhomes, bicycles and trailers (added to the car). You declare the vehicle with its dimensions when you book, and it cannot travel without a passenger.
The car deck cannot be accessed during the crossing: take to the cabin what you need for several hours (chargers, medication, a coat). If the car is a rental, confirm with the company that it can be taken on board.
Las Palmas Lanzarote ferry with a dog
Baleària accepts pets with their own accommodation, which goes on the booking: Pet&You and Pet&You XL (a mat next to your seat), Pet Friendly seat (in a carrier), calm kennels (ventilated spaces, with video surveillance on some ships) and a pet friendly cabin, where the dog sleeps with you.
You need a boarding pass for the pet and a valid pet health card. It cannot stay in the car. Dogs leave the ship last. On such a long crossing, the pet friendly cabin is the most comfortable option. More on travelling by ferry with a dog.
On board: seat, cabin and food
There is a lobby, standard seats, superior seats and double, four-berth and connecting cabins, inside and outside, all with a bathroom. Cabins only exist on the ships that have them, so check the accommodation when you choose a sailing.
There is also food on board. For those who do not want a hotel night, the cabin replaces a booking and leaves the next day ready.

I Love Ferry tips for the Las Palmas Lanzarote ferry
