To get from Tanger Ville to Tarifa by ferry, the operators are Baleà ria and AML (Africa Morocco Link). It is a one-hour fast ferry that leaves from the port in the centre of Tangier and arrives at the port of Tarifa.

How to get to the port of Tanger Ville
Tanger Ville is the port in the centre of the city, on Avenue Mohamed VI, close to the medina. With a closed ticket, arrive as early as your ticket asks; Baleà ria asks for a different advance time during the OPE (Operation Strait Crossing (Operación Paso del Estrecho), from 15 June to 15 September) than outside it. If you are staying in the centre, you can walk or take a taxi.
Arriving in Tarifa: Schengen control and shuttle to Algeciras
You arrive at the port of Tarifa, at the southern tip of the peninsula. You go through Spanish passport control. If you do not have a car, the free shuttle bus (for passengers with a ticket on this route) leaves from in front of the Tarifa maritime terminal and takes you to Algeciras, with connections to trains and buses. You must show your ticket to the driver.

- To enter Spain: a Schengen visa or a valid residence permit from an EU country. Baleà ria checks it with the European platform before boarding and may deny you access to the ship.

- A European permit or visa does not replace Morocco's entry requirements: check them on the Accès Maroc portal.
If you have dual nationality
Enter Spain with your European passport. Which document Morocco asks of its nationals on leaving does not appear in the ferry companies' data.
If you are Spanish or from the EU
When returning from Morocco, the same passport you entered with. The DNI is not valid for entering Morocco.
