The ferry from Agaete to Tenerife leaves the port of Las Nieves (Agaete, Gran Canaria) and arrives in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It is run by Fred Olsen Express as a direct fast ferry, with departures throughout the day.
From Agaete there is only one destination in Tenerife: Santa Cruz, in the north. If you need Los Cristianos, in the south, you will have to add a transfer by road or the Fred Olsen Ferry Bus between the two Tenerife ports.

How long does the ferry from Agaete to Tenerife take?
A little over an hour with Fred Olsen. The crossing from Las Palmas with Baleà ria is somewhat longer, under two hours. For each departure in the timetable you can see the duration and the ship.

Fred Olsen Express is the only ferry company that sails from Agaete. Baleà ria Canarias does not use this port: all its Gran Canaria sailings leave from the capital.

Large family discount on the Agaete Tenerife ferry

Agaete Tenerife ferry with a car
Fred Olsen carries cars, motorbikes and bicycles. The vehicle is declared when booking (type, make and model) and cannot travel without a passenger. If you hire a car, check that the rental company lets you take it to another island.
In Santa Cruz you disembark next to the city centre. If your destination is the south, allow a good hour along the TF-1 to Los Cristianos.
Agaete Tenerife ferry with a dog
Fred Olsen accepts dogs in three ways: in a carrier (Pet Carrier, up to 10 kg), in a deck kennel with a camera (Pet Room) or next to the seat on a lead (Pet Sofa). Each passenger can take a maximum of two Pet Rooms, two Pet Carriers and one Pet Sofa. Microchip compulsory.
On board: seat, Gold Class and luggage
Fred Olsen's fast ferries have standard seats, upper seats and Gold Class, with priority boarding. There is a cafeteria, an outside deck and a children's area. The crossing is by day and there are no cabins.

How to get to the port of Agaete
Agaete is in the north-west of Gran Canaria, about 35 km from Las Palmas along the GC-2. If you live in Gáldar, you are about 10 km away. There is parking in the port area.
Without a car, the Fred Olsen Ferry Bus (Parque Santa Catalina, in Las Palmas) takes you to the port in about 25 minutes, although you must add it when buying and book in advance.
Arriving in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Fred Olsen docks at Muelle Ribera, right in the centre of Santa Cruz. From there you can reach La Laguna, Tenerife North airport and the rest of the north of the island. The south is reached along the TF-1.

Documents for the Agaete Tenerife ferry
A valid ID document (DNI, NIE or passport); there is no printed boarding pass. With a car, the vehicle registration document and insurance. Residents and large families, the document for their discount.

- Changes. If your ticket is a flexible fare you can ask for a full refund; on the others, change the date up to a year later.
- South of Tenerife. Reaching Santa Cruz is not the same as reaching the south. If your destination is Los Cristianos, add a good hour or add the Ferry Bus.
- Without a car, save money. On a day trip it is usually worth going on foot and getting around by bus or taxi.
