Ancona to Corfu Ferry: Minoan and Superfast, Seasonal Route

With Grimaldi Lines

To get from Ancona to Corfu by ferry, Minoan Lines and ANEK Superfast offer a seasonal crossing. Corfu is a stop of the same ship that continues to Igoumenitsa, and it is not called at every day.

It is an overnight journey. You leave Ancona in the afternoon and arrive in Corfu the next day. With a car, bear in mind that the garage is closed during the crossing.

Italy and Greece are in the EU: a valid ID card is enough, and a passport is also accepted. Bring a physical driving licence: the digital DGT licence is not accepted in Greece.

Ancona to Corfu ferry timetable

The timetable shows the sailings for the date you choose. What matters here is seasonality: the Ancona–Corfu route does not run all year. In summer, the Minoan calendar lists Ancona, Corfu and Igoumenitsa; in winter, the line goes directly from Ancona to Igoumenitsa, without calling at Corfu. ANEK Superfast calls at Corfu only on selected sailings, mainly in July, August and September.

Aggregators do not agree with each other on which days of the week Corfu is called at. So always check the specific sailing in the timetable above, not the general calendar.

How long does the Ancona to Corfu ferry take?

It is an overnight crossing plus part of the next day, leaving Ancona in the afternoon. The arrival in Corfu is in the middle of the afternoon of the next day, since the ship then continues to Igoumenitsa. The timetable shows the exact duration of each sailing and whether there is a stop.

Two ferry companies:

  • Minoan Lines (part of the Grimaldi group): in summer it serves Ancona, Corfu and Igoumenitsa, and returns the same way. It asks you to report at least two hours before and has no fast check-in on the routes to Greece: you have to go to the desk.
  • ANEK Superfast: calls at Corfu on specific sailings, mainly in summer. It asks for two hours before; for motorhomes, three, according to a reseller.

On both, Corfu is a stop of the ship: there is no ship exclusively for Ancona–Corfu.

Ancona to Corfu ferry prices

The price you see above is the lowest we have found for an adult without a car. It depends on:

  • The date: it is a summer route with few sailings; July and August are the most expensive.
  • The ferry company: Minoan and ANEK Superfast do not charge the same or include the same.
  • The accommodation: seat or cabin; with a night on board, a cabin is the usual choice.
  • The car: paid separately according to dimensions.

The ferry companies' early-booking offers are limited in time: the ones you see in the search tool are the ones currently valid.

Children and discounts on Ancona to Corfu

As this is an international route, there is no Spanish resident or large family discount. Children and babies have their own fare: enter the age of each passenger when searching. The ferry companies' offers expire; check the current ones in the search tool. All passengers, babies included, need a valid identity document.

Ancona to Corfu ferry with a car

With a car, boarding is at the same terminal as the rest of the passengers to Greece. Some practical rules from Minoan:

  • The garages are closed during the crossing: take to the cabin whatever you need.
  • If the car runs on LPG, tell the crew when boarding.
  • Enter the type, make and model when searching to see the price.

There is no customs control between Italy and Greece, because they are in the same EU area; vehicles are checked at Patras and Igoumenitsa for security, according to the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On board the Ancona to Corfu ferry

With a night on board, the usual choice is to book a cabin. The garages are closed, so take up to the cabin everything you need, including medicines and documents. Passengers getting off in Corfu disembark in the afternoon, and those continuing to Igoumenitsa go back on board after the stop.

The international terminal in Corfu is north of the town, a 10-15 minute walk from the centre. Bus 15 goes to the centre and the airport. If you are going to another part of the island and have no car, that is where you start from. If you continue to Igoumenitsa, you do not get off: the same ship continues a few hours later.
