How long does the ferry from Formentera to Denia take?

It is a crossing of a few hours. The timetable shows you the exact duration of each departure and the stop in Ibiza; in the page above you have the shortest and longest durations of the next departures.

Baleària runs this route on its own, with a stop in Ibiza: Formentera–Ibiza and Ibiza–Denia. No other ferry company links Formentera with Denia.

Baleària also has its Baleària Club (points and discounts by level) and a group fare from 20 passengers on Denia–Formentera between 13 June and 11 September.

Formentera to Denia ferry price

The price you see above is the lowest recent fare for an adult without a car. Your ticket depends on:

  • The date and time: summer and weekends are dearer.
  • The fare: Baleària has a Mini fare, which lets you change the date but not cancel, and a Reduced fare, which allows changes and cancellation with a refund depending on how much time is left.
  • The car: it depends on its size.
  • The resident discount, which only affects the passenger fare.

Balearic resident discount

If you live in the Balearic Islands you get a 75% discount on the passenger ticket; if you live in Formentera, Baleària applies a larger discount on the Ibiza–Formentera route, not on this one. It does not apply to the car.

  • Say you are a resident in the search on iloveferry.com/ferris and bring your DNI or NIE and the certificate of residence in case you have to prove it.
  • Minors bring their DNI or NIE or the family book, and their certificate of residence.
  • All passengers on the booking must be residents; if not, make separate bookings.

Large family discount

Large families get 20% (general category) or 50% (special category) off the passenger ticket, and not on the car. Bring the valid large family card. With this discount, online check-in is not usually available: Baleària asks you to collect your boarding passes at the ticket office, so arrive at La Savina with time to spare.

Formentera to Denia ferry with a car

You can take a car, motorbike, van or motorhome. When booking, give the type of vehicle, the make and the model, and the height and length if they are requested: they must match what you board with, or Baleària does not guarantee boarding. The driver pays for their own ticket separately.

  • Arrival time: on Formentera–Denia, Baleària asks you to be at the port one hour before.
  • Car deck locked during the crossing: take up what you need beforehand.
  • Your dog can never be left in the car.
  • Motorbike or moped: say so when booking; 100% electric ones board free to Formentera, not towards Denia.

Formentera to Denia ferry with a dog

Baleària accepts dogs in three ways: a pet friendly seat, if the dog weighs up to 8 kg including the carrier and you keep it inside; a calm kennel, a ventilated space on deck or in the garage, with no company during the crossing; and a pet friendly cabin, if the ferry has one. Add the pet when booking; it must appear on the boarding pass and there is a charge. Dogs disembark last. Details in travelling by ferry with a dog.
