La Palma to Fuerteventura Ferry: the Route with Stops

With Balearia

There is no daily direct ferry between La Palma and Fuerteventura. From the port of Santa Cruz de La Palma you sail to Los Cristianos, in Tenerife, and from there you continue in stages to Las Palmas and Morro Jable.

Baleària Canarias sells it as two tickets with a stop in Tenerife: La Palma–Tenerife and Santa Cruz de Tenerife–Morro Jable (the latter calling at Las Palmas), which are booked separately.

Fred Olsen runs Los Cristianos–La Palma and Las Palmas–Morro Jable, but not a direct journey between the two islands.

La Palma Fuerteventura ferry timetable

Here you start with the departure from La Palma: it is a fast ship with a daily departure to Los Cristianos. From there on, the timetables depend on each leg. Look up your departure from Santa Cruz de La Palma and then look for the next ship with a comfortable wait, not the minimum margin.

There are no departures scheduled on this route in the coming days. You can travel on these routes:

Indicative schedules and subject to variation by the ferry company for operational reasons without prior notice.

Baleària Canarias runs all three ships in the chain: La Palma–Los Cristianos, Santa Cruz de Tenerife–Las Palmas and Las Palmas–Morro Jable.

Fred Olsen can do the first and the last, but not the one from Santa Cruz de Tenerife to Las Palmas, and it has no direct line between the two islands.

The Baleària Canarias lines that make up this journey came from the former Naviera Armas (now operated by Baleària) and are now operated by Baleària Canarias.

La Palma Fuerteventura ferry price

There is no single price: each leg is a ticket and the total is the sum. The price above is whatever the search finds for that date. With a car, what weighs most is taking the vehicle on every leg.

Canary Islands resident discount for this journey

For Canary Islands residents, 75% off the passenger fare on each leg between islands. It does not apply to the car or the pet. Each ticket is calculated separately. More in Canary Islands resident discount.

You can calculate your resident price directly on I Love Ferry, at iloveferry.com/ferris, by turning on the "Resident in the Canary Islands?" switch in the results search; the 75% applies only to the passenger fare.

La Palma Fuerteventura ferry with a dog

It is a long journey. The Tenerife Ferry Buses do not accept pets, so you would have to make that transfer by car or taxi. Baleària asks for the pet's boarding card and health record. More in travelling by ferry with a dog.

Puerto del Rosario Fuerteventura

Leaving from Santa Cruz de La Palma

The ship leaves from the port of Santa Cruz de La Palma, in the island's capital, and goes to Los Cristianos, in the south of Tenerife. Baleària has a free breakfast offer on that departure. With Baleària's Easy Pass, only on the Los Cristianos–La Palma line, you board with a QR code without going to the ticket office.

Arriving in Fuerteventura: Morro Jable

The chain ends at Morro Jable, in the south of Fuerteventura, in Jandía. For Corralejo or Puerto del Rosario, allow for the road. There is no ferry from La Palma to Corralejo.

How to change port in Tenerife

The La Palma ship arrives at Los Cristianos, and the one that continues to Las Palmas leaves from Santa Cruz de Tenerife. There is a road between the two. Baleària offers a free Ferry Bus, only without a vehicle and without pets, which you add under "Extras" and which has seats per departure. With a car, you drive.

Documents for travelling from La Palma to Fuerteventura

Valid identity document for each passenger (DNI, NIE or passport), on each leg. With a car, the vehicle registration document, technical data sheet and insurance. With a discount, the large family card or the residence verification.

I Love Ferry tips for travelling from La Palma to Fuerteventura

  • Sleep in Tenerife or Gran Canaria. Splitting the journey over two days saves you rushing between ports.
  • Santa Cruz and Los Cristianos are different ports. Check carefully which one each ticket uses.
  • If the first leg is cancelled, the other tickets do not move on their own: let us know before they sail.
  • If you are travelling without a car, book the Ferry Bus at the same time as the ticket. It has seats per departure.
