To go from Playa de Santiago to San Sebastián de La Gomera by ferry you leave the port of Playa de Santiago, in the south, and arrive at the port of the capital. It is run by Fred. Olsen Express as part of its island circuit.
There is no direct ferry from Playa de Santiago to Los Cristianos: to return to Tenerife you must first go through San Sebastián, where the ships to Tenerife by Fred. Olsen and Baleària leave from.

Port of Playa de Santiago: how to get there
Playa de Santiago is a small village on the south coast, and its port is too. Arrive in good time if you do not know the village, and do not count on extensive services at the quay. If you go by bus, check the last one that leaves for the port.
Arriving at San Sebastián de La Gomera
The ship docks at the port of the capital, next to the old town. From there the buses leave for the rest of the island, and it is the port of the ferries to Tenerife.

How to continue from San Sebastián
From San Sebastián the buses leave for other villages on the island, and there are taxis and car hire. If your next step is a ferry to Tenerife, walk or take a taxi to the departure quay with a margin and not with time cutting it fine.
Documents for boarding at Playa de Santiago
To board, an identity document is enough: a valid DNI, NIE or passport. Fred. Olsen works without check-in or a printed card, and the digital DNI is only valid if you show it from the MiDNI app; a screenshot does not work.
If you travel with a minor without a document, the ferry company handles it as a "minor without a document", with the guardian's DNI, and the family record book is requested at boarding. With a resident or large family discount, also bring the document that proves it.
I Love Ferry tips for returning to San Sebastián by ferry
- If you are connecting with Tenerife, leave a big cushion. There is no guaranteed connection between your island ship and the Los Cristianos one, and in bad weather the timetables can change.
- Do not assume there is one sailing a day in each direction. Check the outward and return before paying and keep the booking reference for both.
- If they cancel, standard Fred. Olsen tickets can be changed for a year. A full refund is only available with Flexible and Gold fares.
- With a pet, places are limited: let them know when booking and keep the microchip to hand.
- Resident: the discount is applied when you book and checked through SARA; if that fails, have the town hall certificate.
