Tenerife to Huelva Ferry: from Santa Cruz to the Mainland by Boat
With Fred Olsen
The ferry from Tenerife to Huelva leaves from the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in the north of the island, and arrives at the port of Huelva. It is run by Fred Olsen several times a week, not daily.
It takes more than a day, with cabins, car, motorbike and pet. Residents of the Canary Islands get 75% off the passenger ticket.
From the south of Tenerife or Tenerife South airport you have to get to Santa Cruz by road: there is no ship to Huelva from Los Cristianos.
Tenerife to Huelva ferry timetable
The Huelva line is not daily. Check in the timetable which days have a sailing around your date before planning your flight or accommodation. If you are torn between Huelva and Cádiz, compare the days of each ship: they almost never coincide.
From Huelva to Tenerife
The return has its own page: Huelva Tenerife ferry.
There are no departures scheduled on this route in the coming days. You can travel on these routes:
Indicative schedules and subject to variation by the ferry company for operational reasons without prior notice.
How long does the ferry from Tenerife to Huelva take?
More than a day. From Tenerife it is one of the longest crossings in the Canary Islands. We do not give an exact figure because Fred Olsen and our page do not agree; the one for your sailing is the one you see in the search.
Who runs the Tenerife Huelva ferry
It is run by Fred Olsen, which also runs Huelva with Las Palmas. Baleària, which took over the lines of the former Naviera Armas (now operated by Baleària), links Santa Cruz with Cádiz, not with Huelva.
Tenerife to Huelva ferry price
The price you see above is the lowest recent one for an adult without a vehicle. With a cabin and a car, the total goes up quite a bit. In favour of this line: all Fred Olsen fares allow a refund.
Canary resident discount: Tenerife Huelva
A resident of the Canary Islands gets 75% off the passenger ticket between the Canary Islands and the mainland. It does not apply to the car, the pet or the cabin.
- Calculate your resident price on I Love Ferry (iloveferry.com/ferris) by switching on «Resident in the Canary Islands?».
- Fred Olsen checks it with your DNI online; if it is not verified, bring the certificate of residence from the town council.
- More information in Canary Islands resident discount.
Tenerife to Huelva ferry with a large family
The 20% for a general large family and the 50% for a special one apply to the passenger fare. It can be combined with the resident discount depending on the ferry company, which asks you to validate the card. More information in ferry with large family discount.
Tenerife Huelva ferry with a car
You can travel with a car, motorbike, van or motorhome: give the vehicle when you search. If you are moving, it is the way to take your car without going through a haulier. Electric cars are not charged on board and the car deck is closed during the crossing.
With a rental car from Tenerife, check that the company allows it to be taken out of the islands.
Tenerife Huelva ferry with a dog
Fred Olsen offers a pet friendly cabin (up to two pets of 30 kg each) or a kennel on deck. You must notify when buying, places are limited and a microchip is required. The pet cannot go on the Ferry Bus. More information in travelling by ferry with a dog.
Ports of Tenerife (Santa Cruz) and Huelva
Port of Huelva
How to get to the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife
The ship leaves from the port of Santa Cruz, in the north of the island. If you are in the south, allow around an hour on the TF-1. Fred Olsen's Ferry Bus between Santa Cruz and Los Cristianos is for inter-island trips and there is no connection with the mainland: the best option is a car, a taxi or the bus.
With a car, the check-in time at the port is earlier than between islands; see your ticket.
Arriving at the port of Huelva
The ship arrives at Huelva, in the south-west of the mainland. Seville is less than a hundred kilometres away and Portugal, even closer. Use the terminal address that appears on your ticket: we have no more reliable information.
Documents for travelling from Tenerife to Huelva
A valid identity document, no printed card. With a car, vehicle registration document, technical data sheet and insurance. With a resident or large family discount, the document that proves it. If someone with non-EU nationality is travelling, the ferry company recommends consulting the National Police Border Unit.
I Love Ferry tips for travelling from Tenerife to Huelva
- Work out the port: you leave from Santa Cruz. If you sleep in the south the night before, the road is part of the journey.
- Compare with Cádiz: the Cádiz ship leaves on another day; choose the one that gives you the better connection on land.
- A cabin for the night: with children or a pet, do not gamble on a seat.
- Moving house: take whatever does not go in the car up to the cabin; the car deck is closed during the crossing.
- Changes: the ticket can be changed up to a year later, with a price difference if there is one.
