Ferry Formentera Palma with Trasmediterránea
Now in the Balearic Islands, Trasmediterránea is Trasmed. Trasmediterránea transferred all its routes and ships to Trasmed, a new operator under the Italian shipping company Grimaldi Lines.
Trasmediterránea operates the Formentera-Palma route jointly with Trasmapi. First, you board Trasmapi’s fast ferry (also under the Formentera Lines brand) from Formentera to Ibiza. After arriving in Dalt Vila, Ibiza, you need to go to the Botafoc terminal (about 20 minutes walking or 5 minutes by bus). At the Botafoc terminal, you will board Trasmed’s ferry, which will take you from Ibiza to Palma’s old port.
The option to travel with the former Trasmediterránea is usually available once a week, with a departure from Formentera late on Sunday and arrival in Palma early on Monday morning.

Ferry Formentera Palma Direct
At the moment, there are no ferry companies offering a direct route from Formentera to Palma. It has been a few years since Balearia stopped offering this direct crossing from Formentera to Palma during the summer months. Currently, to travel from Formentera to Palma de Mallorca, you must stop in Ibiza and switch, at the very least, ferries. Sometimes, depending on the option and ferry operator, you may even need to change ports in Ibiza.
The most "direct" way to travel from Formentera to Palma by ferry is to travel with either Balearia or the Trasmapi and Trasmed operators. Both options include a stopover in Ibiza and a ferry change.
Formentera Palma with Balearia: Schedule
- Fast ferry Formentera Palma with Balearia. Formentera 18:01 - Palma 22:15. The ferry Nixe departs from Formentera at 18:01 and is scheduled to arrive in Ibiza at 18:30 at the Botafoc terminal. At 20:00, the fast ferry Eleanor Roosevelt from Balearia departs Ibiza and is scheduled to arrive in Palma at 22:15. This is the fastest option from Formentera to Palma, with a total duration of 4 hours and 15 minutes, including the time spent during the stopover in Ibiza for disembarking and embarking passengers.
- Ferry Formentera Palma with Balearia. Formentera 16:01 - Palma 22:15. The electric ferry Cap de Barbaria departs from Formentera at 16:01 and arrives in Dalt Vila, Ibiza, at around 16:30. In Ibiza, you need to transfer from Dalt Vila to the Botafoc terminal. At 20:00, the fast ferry Eleanor Roosevelt departs Ibiza, arriving in Palma at 22:15 in the evening. This journey and stopover take around 6 hours and 15 minutes in total.
Schedule with Trasmapi and Trasmed from Formentera to Palma: Formentera 23:45, Sunday - Palma 06:30, Monday.
- Ferry Formentera Palma with Trasmediterránea (now Trasmed) and Trasmapi (also operating as Formentera Lines). You must leave Formentera late on Sunday to catch the Trasmed ferry departing from Ibiza in the early hours of Monday. The last fast ferry departing Formentera to Ibiza with Trasmapi (Formentera Lines) usually leaves at 23:45 and is scheduled to arrive in Ibiza at 00:15 at Dalt Vila.
