Trasmed: Capital increase
Trasmed: capital increase
The Italian group Grimaldi, owner of the shipping companies Grimaldi Lines and Trasmed, has announced that, with the aim of strengthening its financial position, it has carried out a capital increase in Trasmed worth 50 million euros.
The General Shareholders’ Meeting intends, with this capital increase, to reduce Trasmed’s total debt to 26.4 million euros. After this operation, its equity will reach 347 million euros. This debt comes from the purchase of vessels at the start of its operations, financed through a syndicated loan.
Trasmed, the Spanish subsidiary of Grimaldi Lines, operates ferry services between the ports of Valencia and Barcelona on the mainland and Mahón (Menorca), Alcudia and Palma de Mallorca (Mallorca), and Ibiza. Its main routes are Barcelona – Mallorca, Valencia – Mallorca, Barcelona – Menorca, and Valencia – Menorca. It was founded in 2021 following the acquisition of assets and routes previously owned by the Armas Trasmediterránea group. According to the Grimaldi Group, the total amount of investments made in Spain, both in infrastructure and fleet, amounts to 1 billion euros.
Grimaldi Lines forecasts that in 2025 revenues will once again reach around 5 billion euros, a figure very similar to that recorded in the previous two years (5.1 billion in 2024 and 5 billion in 2023).
