With Balearia, Trasmed · 10 to 14 weekly departures · 3:30 hours - 6 hours

To get from Alcudia to Barcelona by ferry you can choose Baleària, with a fast ferry and a conventional ferry, or Trasmed, with a conventional ferry and fewer departures. You leave from the port of Alcudia and arrive at the port of Barcelona.

If you are in the north of Mallorca, Alcudia saves you the road to Palma: about 55 km. The quickest departure is Baleària's fast ferry; the conventional ferry takes longer.

How long does the ferry from Alcudia to Barcelona take?

It depends on the ship: the fast ferry takes a few hours and the conventional one a good deal longer, with a half-day or overnight crossing. You can see the exact duration of each departure in the timetable. The fast ferry does not sail every day.

  • Baleària: the one with the most departures. Fast ferry and conventional ferry; the latter has cabins and a restaurant. On the Barcelona-Ciutadella line, the company itself calls at Alcudia.
  • Trasmed (Trasmed GLE, Grimaldi group): conventional ferry with cabins, luggage with no weight limit and a discount for Balearic Islands residents. It leaves from the San Beltrán quay in Barcelona.

GNV is not listed on this route.

Alcudia to Barcelona ferry price

The price shown above is the lowest recent fare for an adult without a car. It changes mainly with the type of ship and the ferry company.

  • Fast ferry or conventional ferry: the fast ferry saves hours and usually costs more.
  • Baleària's fare: the tightest one limits changes; the reduced one allows cancellation with a refund depending on how much notice you give.
  • The car: paid separately and depends on its dimensions.
  • Balearic Islands resident: 75% on the passenger fare.

Balearic Islands resident discount: Alcudia Barcelona ferry

If you live in the Balearic Islands you get a 75% discount on the passenger ticket. It applies to the person, not to the car or the pet. It is only valid on routes whose origin or destination is in your region: Alcudia-Barcelona qualifies.

  • Say you are a resident in the search on iloveferry.com/ferris. With Baleària, all passengers on the booking must be residents; if someone who is not travels, make separate bookings.
  • Bring your DNI or NIE and a valid certificate of residence. For a minor, the minor's certificate of residence.
  • More information in Balearic Islands resident discount.

Large family discount on the Alcudia Barcelona ferry

The large family certificate gives 20% (general) or 50% (special) off the passenger fare, not the car. Each traveller needs their own original, valid individual certificate or card, and their ID document.

With Baleària, if it is your first trip with the certificate or more than six months have passed, boarding passes do not arrive digitally: you collect them at the ticket office. Guide: ferry with large family discount.

Alcudia Barcelona ferry with a car

Baleària and Trasmed carry cars, motorbikes, vans and motorhomes. Declare the type and dimensions when booking: the vehicle you board must match the one on the ticket.

Arrival time and quay in Barcelona

With Baleària, arriving about 90 minutes ahead with a vehicle is recommended. In Barcelona, Baleària's conventional ferry with a car boards at the Lepanto quay and the fast ferry at the adjoining TF1 quay; these change because of weather or operations, so check the ferry company's notice.

The port of Barcelona is a low-emission zone: check whether your car can enter or needs a permit.

Alcudia Barcelona ferry with a dog

  • Baleària: pet friendly seat for pets up to 8 kg in a carrier (one per passenger), calm kennel or pet friendly cabin. Never inside the car.
  • Trasmed: adapted cabins, seat (under 8 kg, in a carrier) and kennels. Up-to-date vaccination card.

Ports of Alcudia (Mallorca) and Barcelona

Port of Alcudia

Port of Alcudia

The port of Alcúdia, in northern Mallorca, is a quick and convenient alternative to Palma, with direct ferry connections to Ciutadella (Menorca) and Barcelona, and a well-signposted and easy-to-use passenger terminal.

How to get to the port of Alcudia

The port of Alcudia (commercial quay) is in the north of Mallorca, about 55 km from Palma. There is no train: you get there by car or bus. If you leave the car, compare the port car park with taking it on the ship.

Arriving in Barcelona: terminals

Baleària uses the World Trade Center North terminal, and a free shuttle bus takes passengers to the boarding quay; it leaves about 75 minutes before departure. Trasmed uses the San Beltrán quay. Check on your ticket which one applies to you: they are in different parts of the port.

From the port to the centre there are metro, bus and taxi.

Documents for the Alcudia Barcelona ferry

Domestic route: original, valid DNI, NIE or passport. Children under 14 without an ID document travel with the family book or a Civil Registry certificate and always with a parent or guardian; when booking you must tick the option for a minor without a DNI. If you have a resident or large family discount, bring the supporting document.

Tips for the Alcudia Barcelona ferry

  1. If you are staying in the north of Mallorca, go via Alcudia: you avoid the road to Palma.
  2. If you want the fast ferry, check that your date has it: it does not sail every day.
