Huelva to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Ferry: Days, Cabin and How to Book
With Fred Olsen
The ferry from Huelva to Gran Canaria is operated by Fred Olsen and arrives at the port of Las Palmas. It is a crossing of more than a day, with cabins and sailings several times a week, not daily.
You can travel with a car, motorbike or pet. It is the only line linking Huelva with the Canary Islands: Baleària does not sail from Huelva, but from Cádiz.
If your final destination is another island, there are ferries from Las Palmas to Tenerife and Lanzarote, with a separate booking.
Huelva Gran Canaria ferry timetable
The line does not sail daily: there are departures several days a week and they change by season. Choose the departure from Huelva first and organise everything else around it, not the other way round. In the timetable for your date you can see the day and time of each ferry.

How long does the ferry from Huelva to Gran Canaria take?
More than a day. Fred Olsen advertises one range and our page another, so the reliable figure is the duration shown for your departure. If you want a good night's sleep, book a cabin.
Who runs the Huelva Gran Canaria ferry
Only Fred Olsen, with a cabin ship that is different from the trimarans on its inter-island routes. There is no other ferry company in Huelva. If you were looking for the former Naviera Armas (now operated by Baleària), its line to the Canary Islands leaves from Cádiz.
Huelva Gran Canaria ferry price
The price you see above is the lowest recent fare for an adult without a vehicle. What moves it most is the accommodation (seat or cabin) and the car. Fred Olsen allows refunds on all fares on this line, which is not usual on inter-island routes.
Canary Islands resident discount: Huelva Gran Canaria
If you live in the Canary Islands and are returning home, you get 75% off the passenger ticket between the mainland and the Canary Islands. It does not apply to the car, the pet or the cabin.
- Calculate your resident price on I Love Ferry (iloveferry.com/ferris) by switching on «Resident in the Canary Islands?».
- Residence is checked online with your DNI; if it does not come up as verified, bring the certificate from the town hall.

Ferry to Gran Canaria with a large family
The regulations give a general large family 20% and a special large family 50% off regular domestic sea transport. Fred Olsen asks you to validate the certificate in its customer area. More information in ferry with large family discount.
Huelva Gran Canaria ferry with a car
It is the usual way to take a car, motorbike or van to the Canary Islands. State the vehicle when you search: a car is one up to five metres long and under 1.90 high; anything above that is a large vehicle. If it is a rental car, check that the company lets you take it off the mainland.
An electric vehicle cannot be charged on board and there is no access to the car deck during the crossing.
Huelva Gran Canaria ferry with a dog
Fred Olsen carries pets on the Huelva line in a pet friendly cabin (up to two pets, with a weight limit per animal) or in a kennel on deck. You tell them when you buy, places are limited and a microchip is required. More information in travelling by ferry with a dog.
On board the Huelva ferry: cabins and areas
There are double and quadruple cabins, inside or outside. For a crossing of more than a day, this is the usual choice. Fred Olsen also has a points programme and digital entertainment on board.
