Menorca to Palma Ferry: Mahón with Trasmed or Cross via Alcudia

Menorca to Palma Ferry: Mahón with Trasmed or Cross via Alcudia

With Trasmed · 1 weekly departure · 6 hours

To get from Menorca to Palma by ferry there is one direct ship: Mahón–Palma, with Trasmed, which links the port of Mahón with the port of Palma. It has very few departures, so you need to fit your trip around the ferry.

There is no ferry from Ciutadella to Palma. The alternative is to cross to Alcudia, in the north of Mallorca, with Baleària or Menorca Lines and then drive about 55 km to Palma.

Residents of the Balearic Islands get a 75% discount on the passenger ticket, not on the car. You can travel on foot, with a car or with a dog.

Menorca to Palma ferry timetable

Below you can see the departures for the date you choose. The direct Mahón–Palma ferry has very few departures, so it is best to start by checking whether your date has a ship. If it does not, the route via Alcudia almost always works for you: it has several departures a day, although you then have to get to Palma by road.

Keep the arrival time in mind: if the ferry reaches Palma late, check that your onward transport is still running.

  • Trasmed (Trasmed GLE, formerly Trasmediterránea in the Balearics) runs Mahón–Palma with a conventional ferry. Luggage: no weight limit (only what you can carry on board in one go). Pets: adapted cabin, seat (under 8 kg, in a carrier) or kennels. For the car, you must state the exact type and measurements, and changing your ticket at the port has a cost.
  • Baleària and Menorca Lines (Trasmapi) run Ciutadella–Alcudia, with a fast ferry. Menorca Lines accepts pets free of charge on a lead or in a carrier.

Menorca to Palma ferry price

The price you see above is the lowest recent one. To compare the two options properly, add the cost of getting around: Mahón–Palma drops you in Palma; Ciutadella–Alcudia is usually cheaper as a ticket, but you then have to pay for the trip to Palma, by bus, taxi or fuel. The car is paid separately on both, and the resident discount does not apply to it.

Balearic resident discount: Menorca to Palma

If you live in the Balearic Islands you get a 75% discount on the passenger ticket, with all three ferry companies. It does not apply to the car, the pet or extras. Say you are a resident in the search form at iloveferry.com/ferris; all passengers on the booking must be residents. More on the Balearic residents' discount.

Large family discount on the Menorca to Palma ferry

On domestic routes, large families with a Spanish title get 20% (general) or 50% (special) off the passenger ticket. It does not apply to the car. Bring the original title and your identity document. More on the ferry discount for large families.
