Agaete to La Palma Ferry: No Direct Sailing, Here's How to Go

With Fred Olsen

There is no direct ferry from Agaete to La Palma. You go via Tenerife: Fred Olsen Express from Agaete to Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a transfer to Los Cristianos and a ferry to Santa Cruz de La Palma.

Baleària Canarias does not use the port of Agaete, so from there you can only start with Fred Olsen. The second leg, from Los Cristianos to La Palma, is run by both ferry companies.

It is a long day's journey. It is best to book it with a margin between ferries and without trying to go and return in the same day.

Count on a full day: there are two ferries, the transfer in Tenerife and the waits. For the combined journey, Baleària gives 8 h 45 min of travel (door to door, including the transfer). Whether or not you can make a same-day round trip:.

Between Gran Canaria and La Palma there is no direct line in any ferry company's data. The journey is made up of legs:

  • Baleària Canarias sells it as a combined journey: Las Palmas to Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Ferry Bus or car to Los Cristianos, and Los Cristianos to Santa Cruz de La Palma. These are two independent bookings; Baleària gives 8 h 45 min of travel, door to door and including the transfer.
  • Fred Olsen Express sails Agaete to Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Los Cristianos to Santa Cruz de La Palma, with its Ferry Bus between Santa Cruz and Los Cristianos for those travelling in transit.
  • Baleària does not use Agaete and Fred Olsen does not sail from Las Palmas to Tenerife: choose the port according to the ferry company.

Agaete to La Palma ferry price

The price you see above is the lowest recent one for one leg, not for the whole journey. The total is the sum of the two tickets: Gran Canaria to Santa Cruz and Los Cristianos to La Palma.

If you travel without a car, the free Ferry Bus between Santa Cruz and Los Cristianos saves you the transfer; with a car, the TF-1 means a few more kilometres of fuel.
