Huelva to Morro Jable Ferry: No Direct Sailing, Change at Las Palmas

With Fred Olsen

There is no direct ferry from Huelva to Morro Jable, in the south of Fuerteventura. You do it with a change in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: Huelva to Las Palmas with Fred Olsen Express and Las Palmas to Morro Jable with Fred Olsen or Baleària Canarias.

You can also go from Huelva to Santa Cruz de Tenerife with Fred Olsen and from there to Morro Jable with Baleària, with a stopover in Las Palmas. They are always two separate bookings.

The Huelva ferry does not sail daily: start with those days and work out the rest.

Timetable for the Huelva to Morro Jable journey

The Huelva ferry sets the pace: it does not sail daily. Check those days and then look for the ferry from Las Palmas to Morro Jable that arrives with a margin; that leg has departures almost every day.

The journey in reverse

See the Morro Jable Huelva ferry page.

There are no departures scheduled on this route in the coming days. You can travel on these routes:

Indicative schedules and subject to variation by the ferry company for operational reasons without prior notice.

How long does the journey from Huelva to Morro Jable take?

More than a day and a half on the Huelva ferry alone, to which you add the wait in Las Palmas and the inter-island leg. Fred Olsen and our page give different ranges, so the real duration of each departure is the one you see in the search. Allow two long days.

Fred Olsen Express is the only ferry company with a ferry to Huelva: it sails from Las Palmas and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It is a cabin ship, different from the fast ferries on its inter-island routes. Baleària has no routes from Huelva.

The Las Palmas–Morro Jable leg is run by Fred Olsen Express and Baleària Canarias; Baleària also links Santa Cruz de Tenerife with Morro Jable with a stopover in Las Palmas. Between Huelva and Fuerteventura there is no direct line from any ferry company.

The Baleària Canarias lines on this journey came from the former Naviera Armas (now operated by Baleària). If you were looking for its line to the mainland, it leaves from Cádiz, not Huelva.

Price of the Huelva to Morro Jable journey

The total price adds up the two legs. On the Huelva ferry, what matters most is the accommodation: double or quadruple cabin, inside or outside, and the vehicle if you take one. The short inter-island leg is usually the cheapest. Fred Olsen allows refunds on all fares on the Huelva line; on the other leg it depends on the fare and the ferry company.

Canary Islands resident discount: Huelva Morro Jable

Canary Islands residents get a 75% discount on the passenger fare of each ferry on the journey, between the Canary Islands and the mainland and between islands. It does not apply to the car, the pet or extras such as the cabin.

  • Calculate your resident price on I Love Ferry, at iloveferry.com/ferris, by switching on the «Resident in the Canary Islands?» toggle on each leg of the journey.
  • It is checked with your DNI; if your residence does not come up as verified, bring the certificate from the town hall.
  • More information in Canary Islands resident discount.

Large family on the Huelva Morro Jable journey

The regulations give a general large family 20% and a special large family 50% off the fare on regular domestic sea transport, and on this journey you have to request it on each booking. Bring the valid certificate. Guide: ferry with large family discount.

Huelva Morro Jable ferry with a car

Fred Olsen carries cars on the Huelva line; state this when you search. On that crossing the car deck is not opened during the journey, electric vehicles cannot be charged on board and a vehicle without a passenger is handled as cargo. With a car, present the vehicle in Huelva with plenty of margin; the ferry company refers you to its boarding page.

On the inter-island leg, Fred Olsen and Baleària also carry cars. If it is a rental car, ask the company whether it can leave the island.

Huelva Morro Jable ferry with a dog

On the Huelva line, Fred Olsen offers a pet friendly cabin, for up to two pets of 30 kg each, or a Pet Room (outdoor kennel with a camera). You tell them when you buy, with a separate ticket and limited places, and a microchip is required. On the inter-island leg, the conditions depend on the ferry company: Fred Olsen has Pet Carrier, Pet Room and Pet Sofa, and Baleària, Pet&You and the Pet Friendly seat. More in travelling by ferry with a dog.

Ports of Huelva and Fuerteventura (Morro Jable)

How to get to the port of Huelva

The ferry leaves from the port of Huelva, on Andalusia's Atlantic coast. We do not have enough data on the terminal: use the one shown on your ticket. Fred Olsen does not ask for check-in or a printed pass, your identity document is enough. From Seville, Huelva is less than a hundred kilometres away.

Arriving in Morro Jable (Fuerteventura)

Morro Jable is in the south of the island, in the Jandía area, and is the port with a ferry to Gran Canaria. If your destination is in the north (Corralejo, Puerto del Rosario), allow for a long journey by road.

How to connect the ferries in Las Palmas

The journey has two legs, with a change in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria:

LegDepartureArrivalOperatorPage
1HuelvaLas Palmas de Gran CanariaFred Olsen ExpressHuelva Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
2Las Palmas de Gran CanariaMorro JableFred Olsen Express or Baleària CanariasLas Palmas de Gran Canaria Morro Jable

Variant via Tenerife: Huelva to Santa Cruz de Tenerife with Fred Olsen (Huelva Santa Cruz de Tenerife) and then Santa Cruz to Morro Jable with Baleària, with a stopover in Las Palmas (Santa Cruz de Tenerife Morro Jable).

Between the two legs there is no transfer by land: the change is at the port of La Luz, in Las Palmas. The tickets are independent and there is no guaranteed connection.

Documents for travelling from Huelva to Morro Jable

It is a domestic journey within the EU: a valid identity document (DNI, NIE or passport) for each passenger and each ticket. With a resident or large family discount, bring the document that proves it. With a car, vehicle registration document and insurance. As the tickets are separate, keep the booking reference for each leg. Fred Olsen does not use a printed boarding pass. If you are not an EU citizen, ask the Policía Nacional border police which document you need for the Huelva line.
