To get from Ibiza to Valencia by ferry there are three ferry companies: Baleà ria, Trasmed and GNV. They leave from the port of Ibiza town and arrive at the port of Valencia, with daytime and overnight departures.
It is a crossing of several hours, much longer than Denia-Ibiza. That is why you choose a seat for a daytime sailing or a cabin for the night. All three ferry companies take cars, motorbikes and vans.
If you live in the Balearic Islands you get a 75% discount on the passenger fare, not on the car. If you are not a resident, the Ibiza car authorisation only affects you when you return to the island in summer.

How long does the ferry from Ibiza to Valencia take?
The duration depends on the ferry company and the departure; the timetable shows it for each one. Allow several hours for the crossing: it is not a round trip you can make in a day.

Who runs the Ibiza Valencia ferry: Baleà ria, Trasmed and GNV
- Baleà ria: the most complete service. Standard, superior and VIP seats, and double or quadruple cabins, inside or outside. On overnight sailings it offers late disembarkation in cabins so you can sleep a little longer. Baleà ria Club points programme.
- Trasmed (Trasmed GLE, part of the Grimaldi group, formerly Trasmediterránea in the Balearic Islands): no weight limit on luggage and a discount for Balearic residents. Changing your ticket at the port has a cost.
- GNV: seats and cabins, pet-friendly cabins, up to two suitcases in the Balearic Islands, the myGNV Club of discounts and points, and a resident fare.

Ibiza to Valencia ferry price
The price shown above is the lowest recent fare for one adult without a car. On this route the accommodation matters most: a daytime seat and a cabin on the overnight sailing are very different things.
- The ferry company: with three operators, always compare all three before deciding.
- The date: July, August and long weekends cost more.
- The car: it is paid separately from the driver and depends on its dimensions.
- The fare: with Baleà ria, the more flexible fares allow you to change or cancel with more leeway; the tightest one limits changes.
- Your residence: the resident discount completely changes the price of the passenger fare.
Balearic resident discount: Ibiza Valencia ferry
If you live in the Balearic Islands, you get a 75% discount on the passenger ticket. It applies to the person, not to the car or the pet.
- Say you are a resident in the search form at iloveferry.com/ferris. With Baleà ria, all passengers on the booking must be residents; if someone who is not a resident is travelling, make separate bookings.
- Bring your DNI or NIE and a valid residence certificate. For a minor, the minor's residence certificate.
- It only applies on routes whose origin or destination is in your region: Ibiza-Valencia qualifies.

Large family discount on the Ibiza Valencia ferry
The large family card gives 20% (general) or 50% (special) off the passenger ticket, not the car. Each traveller needs their own original, valid card or individual certificate, and their ID document.
Important detail with Baleà ria: if it is the first time you travel with the card or more than six months have passed, boarding passes are not sent digitally and must be collected at the ticket office. Guide: ferry with large family discount.
Ibiza Valencia ferry with a car
Baleà ria, Trasmed and GNV carry cars, motorbikes, vans and motorhomes. When booking, enter the type of vehicle and its dimensions: with Baleà ria it must match the one on the ticket, otherwise boarding is not guaranteed. On GNV you cannot stay in the vehicle during the crossing, and on no ferry company can pets travel inside the car.
Car authorisation in Ibiza in summer
Between 1 June and 30 September, the Consell d'Eivissa limits the circulation of cars on the island and requires prior authorisation for non-residents' cars. It is processed online at ibizacircular.es and control is by number plate reading, so the details must be correct. It applies to those entering Ibiza: if you go from Ibiza to Valencia you do not need it, but you will have to request it to come back.
With a return ticket with Baleà ria, the ferry company itself handles the stay authorisation and pays the fee, if there is one. With a one-way ticket, you arrange the rest of the stay yourself. Motorbikes do not need authorisation.
Ibiza Valencia ferry with a dog
All three ferry companies accept pets, but not in the same way:
- Baleà ria: pet-friendly seat for pets up to 8 kg in a carrier (one per passenger), calm kennel on deck or in the garage, or a pet-friendly cabin (up to two animals if together they do not exceed 30 kg).
- Trasmed: adapted cabins, seat (under 8 kg, in a carrier) and kennels. Up-to-date vaccination booklet.
- GNV: with the right documents, a pet-friendly cabin; on outside decks on a lead and with a muzzle if necessary.

How to get to the port of Ibiza
The ferry leaves from the port of Ibiza (Eivissa), at the foot of Dalt Vila. There are buses and taxis to the town, and opposite the ferry terminal there is free parking if you are going to leave your car before boarding.
With a car, arrive in good time: with Baleà ria, boarding with a vehicle is recommended about 90 minutes ahead, and without a vehicle, 60. With your digital boarding pass you go in without stopping at the ticket office.
Arriving in Valencia: the port
The port of Valencia is a commercial port and is separate from the city. There is no public transport inside the port area: if you arrive on foot with Baleà ria, a free bus takes you from the disembarkation point to the Clock Building (Edificio del Reloj), and from there you continue by taxi or city bus.
With a car, access goes through the customs arches, and it is a good drive inside the port to the terminal. If you are only picking someone up, do not park: vehicles that are not boarding cannot stay.
Documents for the Ibiza Valencia ferry
It is a domestic route: adults need an original, valid DNI, NIE or passport. Children under 14 without an ID document can board with the family record book (libro de familia), ticking the option for a minor without DNI when booking, and always with their parent or guardian. If you have a resident or large family discount, bring the supporting document.
Tips for the Ibiza Valencia ferry
- Choose by arrival time, not just departure time. A midday departure gets you to Valencia in the afternoon; an overnight one, first thing the next morning.
- Check in with Baleà ria from 72 hours before: without it, boarding passes arrive only 24 hours before and you cannot choose your seat.
- With a car, declare the dimensions correctly and enter a mobile number you use: that way the ferry company will let you know by WhatsApp or SMS if the departure is changed or cancelled.
- If you return to Ibiza in summer with a car and are not a resident, request the authorisation before buying the return, or buy a return ticket with Baleà ria.
- If they cancel because of the sea, Baleà ria offers a change of time, a nearby port or the booking, and a free change or full refund if there is no alternative. Write to us with your booking reference.
