You arrive at the port of Barcelona, which is a low-emission zone: check whether your car can drive there. There is a shuttle bus between terminals for those without a car.

The crossing is international: all passengers, including minors, need a valid passport. What else you need depends on your nationality.
If you have a Moroccan passport
- To enter Spain you need a Schengen visa or a valid residence permit from an EU country. A residence permit or a European visa does not on its own replace Morocco's entry requirements, which you can check on the official portal Accès Maroc.

- On entering Schengen your personal data and biometrics are recorded (entry/exit system, EES).
If you have dual nationality
To enter Spain you can use the European passport. Which document Morocco asks its nationals for when leaving or entering is not in the ferry companies' data: check with the Moroccan consulate.
If you are Spanish or another European
When coming back from Morocco you need the passport you entered with. The DNI is not valid for entering Morocco.
Minors
Minors need their own passport. If they are not travelling with both parents, the authorities may ask for travel authorisation, the family record book or a birth certificate.
GNV reminds you that, on routes with Morocco, a passport is also compulsory for EU citizens and that on this line there are checks under the European EES system. Anyone not admitted by the police because of inadequate documents gets no refund.
